Vijay is Founder and Chief Consultant at Kanal Consulting, which he established in 2003. He has over 20 years experience in corporate executive and consulting roles, primarily in the technology industry. His experience spans the globe including assignments in several European countries, India, Russia, and China. The combination of implementation, advisory and global experience is what makes Vijay an effective consultant, and a valuable contributor to his clients. His current focus is on helping clients with sustainability initiatives and making them a core part of the company's entire value chain - from strategy to operations and communications.
Vijay is recognized for his skills at defining the business problem, taking a fact-based approach in analysis, and developing actionable recommendations that are suited for the company's environment. He works with client executives to really understand the company's objectives before his team starts any engagement. And he balances strategic thinking with roll-up-the-sleeves execution as needed.
As a management consultant at Deloitte & Touche, and later at A.T. Kearney, Vijay consulted for senior executives at Fortune 1000 companies on strategic, marketing and financial issues. He and his teams conducted dozens of projects for these clients - in many different industries - that were primarily focused on creating shareholder value.
Prior to his consulting career, Vijay was a hardware engineer in Silicon Valley.
Vijay holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. He is also a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a designation awarded by the Institute of Management Consultants, based on his qualifications and adherence to IMC’s code of ethics. Just 1% of all consultants have earned this distinction.
In his spare time, he pursues his passion of food and wine which he offsets with his other passion of cycling. Vijay is active in community volunteer efforts and serves on the advisory boards of a few startups.
